Infrastructure that doesn't wake you up at night

I've been setting up, maintaining and rescuing servers for 17 years: Linux and Windows, web hosting, Bitrix and 1C, databases, mail, security. I take responsibility for keeping it all running.

~/services

Services: everything between the code and the hardware

From a single VPS to clusters under load. I work directly and hands-on, on production servers — carefully and with backups.

web.serviceactive (running)

Web servers and hosting

nginx, Angie, Apache, PHP-FPM. HestiaCP, ISPmanager, FastPanel and DirectAdmin panels. SSL, redirects, tuning for load, high availability.

bitrix.serviceactive (running)

Bitrix and 1C

BitrixVM, web clusters (nginx + PHP + memcached + HAProxy), 1C integration, performance, MySQL 8 compatibility, recovery after failures.

db.serviceactive (running)

Databases

MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, PostgreSQL, MongoDB. Replication, backup and restore, configuration tuning and slow-query optimisation.

mail.serviceactive (running)

Mail servers

mailcow, Postfix, Exim, Dovecot. Migrations without losing a single message, multi-domain setups, SPF / DKIM / DMARC, the fight for deliverability.

security.serviceactive (running)

Security and incidents

Breach response: finding and removing shells, backdoors and rootkits, root-cause analysis, closing the holes. DDoS mitigation, hardening, fail2ban, CSF, access audits.

devops.serviceactive (running)

DevOps and automation

Docker and Docker Compose, GitLab CI/CD, automated deployment, backup strategies, monitoring and alerting — so that you hear about a problem before your customers do.

migrate.serviceactive (running)

Migrations and upgrades

Moves between servers and data centres, Debian and Ubuntu upgrades, PHP and MySQL version changes on live projects — with minimal downtime.

windows.serviceactive (running)

Windows Server

1C servers, MS SQL, terminal farms and RDS licensing, Active Directory, IIS. Platform updates and maintenance.

/var/log/cases

Cases: what this looks like in practice

A few recent jobs — no client names, but with the real details.

case/db-replica-lagresolved

MySQL replica hours behind the primary

symptom
reports built on yesterday's data, replica lag growing
cause
innodb_buffer_pool_size = 32M instead of 32G — a typo in the config
fix
corrected configuration, controlled restart — lag down to 0 seconds
case/compromised-hostresolved

Compromised server with replaced system binaries

symptom
suspicious activity, modified /usr/bin/su, a hidden backdoor
cause
compromised credentials, no file-integrity monitoring
fix
forensics, backdoor removal, credential rotation, hardening and monitoring
case/bitrix-clusterdeployed

1C-Bitrix web cluster built for load

task
a fault-tolerant portal: several app nodes behind a load balancer
stack
HAProxy + nginx + PHP 8.4 + memcached, database on its own host
result
cluster in production: a node drops out, the site keeps serving
case/debian-upgraderesolved

Production upgrade, Debian 11 → 12

task
upgrade the OS on a hosting box with dozens of sites and MySQL 5.7
difficulty
MySQL 5.7 → 8.0 transition, several PHP-FPM versions, a control panel
result
upgraded step by step, with backups and a rollback plan — no data lost

How I work

For standard jobs I quote a fixed price after a short assessment — before the work starts, not after.

One-off job

Set it up, fix it, move it

Server audit, stack setup, migration, optimisation, a one-time fix. Fixed scope, a clear outcome, a report on what was done.

Describe your task →
Ongoing support

A server that is always watched

Retainer maintenance: monitoring, updates, backups, response to alerts and priority contact. You run the business — I run the servers.

Discuss the terms →
Emergency

Site down? Server hacked?

Emergencies are handled first: an unreachable site, a crashed database, a breach, a full disk. First we bring the service back, then we deal with the cause and prevent a repeat.

Describe the task or the problem in your own words — I answer personally, no account managers, no scripts. If it's on fire, say so: emergencies come first.
